Haiku Party – On Now!

May 13th, 2010

The word of the night is VAST. Write any haiku you like and use the word “vast.” With a nod to Walt Whitman, the haiku form is large. It contains multitudes. Show us how vast it can be. Count your syllables. Or not. Use line breaks. Or not. Get creative!

The spirit of this event: FUN. Please be kind to your fellow poets. Encourage them so they can share something new & wonderful. If you’re too shy to write, that’s OK. You can lurk. Just enjoy!

I’ll be here with you at least two hours. Feel free to come and go as you like. Give me a shout any time if you need help or have any questions.

At the end of tonight (or tomorrow), I’ll pick one haiku and award the poet a small token prize. http://amzn.to/czGZvR Not “the best” haiku, just the one that strikes me. ;-)

If that poet agrees, I will post his/her haiku on my blog for all of you to enjoy. And I’ll RT it so you know. I’ll open with a haiku to get you started.
